Summary

CHS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Wholesale Representative, Crop Protection, to join our team in Eastern Nebraska, the Cornhuskers state. This role is pivotal in driving growth within a territory poised for tremendous expansion. The successful candidate will manage the P&L for the assigned territory, develop and maintain strong relationships with cooperatives, ag independents, suppliers, and customers, and leverage market trends to forecast supply requirements.

The successful candidate will live and have current relationships with customers in Nebraska, including locations like Omaha, NE, Lincoln, NE, or Beatrice, NE. This position is remote and requires someone to live in the aforementioned territory.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies to maximize value
  • Manage P and L for an assigned territory
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to assist, advise, and harness supply economics and strategies in assigned region
  • Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape needed to forecast supply requirements by month and on an annual basis
  • Utilize proficient knowledge of product offerings to increase sales and margins by prospecting new customers and executing sales programs
  • Facilitate positive long-term relationships with suppliers and customers to create long-term repeat business
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers, vendors, and internal staff
  • Prepare compelling sales presentations, contracts, and proposals to ensure successful transactions
  • Create, develop, and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies that capture maximum value
  • Collaborate with other CHS teams to leverage business relationships, growing the CHS enterprise
  • Share knowledge and constructively contribute toward developing sales best practices among team members
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in sales, business development, and/or sales business operations
  • Ability to travel 50%

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Outside sales experience to include: presentations, utilizing persuasive negotiation skills, customer service, conflict resolution, and working independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
