Senior Business Systems Analyst, Enterprise Scheduling

Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in the Information Technology group. We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to focus on enterprise scheduling, workload automation, and production operations. This role is ideal for an IT professional who can operate across production support, scheduling engineering, automation, and business systems analysis. This role will ensure the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of enterprise scheduling processes that support CHS’ agricultural, energy, financial, supply-chain, and corporate operations. This position will work across SAP and non-SAP environments, supporting current-state scheduling platforms, and help prepare CHS for future scheduling and automation needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise job schedules, workflows, calendars, triggers, dependencies, alerts, and automation processes.
- Support workload automation across SAP and non-SAP environments using enterprise scheduling platforms such as Tidal, Control-M, Redwood RunMyJobs, Stonebranch, Beta Systems Software, or similar tools.
- Provide senior-level production support for batch cycles, scheduled processes, integrations, and automation workflows, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Troubleshoot complex scheduling and batch processing issues, including job failures, delays, dependency conflicts, missed triggers, calendar issues, and downstream impacts.
- Serve as a technical lead during high-priority incidents, coordinating with application, infrastructure, database, security, cloud, and business teams to restore service and reduce business impact.
- Perform root cause analysis, identify recurring issues, and drive corrective actions that improve reliability, resiliency, recoverability, and operational stability.
- Partner with application teams and business stakeholders to onboard new systems, business processes, and integrations into the enterprise scheduling environment.
- Support scheduling and automation needs related to SAP, S/4HANA, SAP RISE, cloud ERP, hybrid platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Contribute to scheduler modernization, migration planning, tool evaluation, workload conversion, and future-state automation strategy. Establish and maintain scheduling standards, naming conventions, runbooks, dependency documentation, support procedures, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with project and delivery teams to ensure scheduling, automation, batch processing, and support requirements are incorporated into solution designs and implementation plans.
- Support change management, release coordination, testing, validation, and deployment activities for scheduling-related changes.
- Mentor associate and mid-level analysts by sharing technical knowledge, reviewing scheduling designs, and promoting consistent operational practices.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field (or equivalent years of experience, education and training)
- 4+ years of experience in IT operations, application support, business systems analysis, workload automation, scheduling engineering, DevOps, or related technology roles
Additional Qualifications
- Strong understanding of enterprise batch processing, job scheduling, workload automation, dependencies, calendars, triggers, alerts, and production support processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across applications, infrastructure, integrations, databases, and scheduling platforms. Familiarity with Windows server environments and enterprise IT operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead issue resolution efforts, coordinate across technical teams, and communicate status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Experience with enterprise scheduling or workload automation platforms such as Tidal, Control-M, Redwood RunMyJobs, Stonebranch, Beta Systems Software, AutoSys, IBM Workload Scheduler, or similar tools.
- Experience with SAP background jobs, SAP batch processing, SAP integrations, or SAP operational support. Experience with APIs, REST integrations, event-based scheduling, file-based integrations, or enterprise integration patterns. PowerShell scripting experience.
- Experience with ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Experience contributing to scheduler migrations, platform modernization, workload conversion, or enterprise automation strategy.
- Experience mentoring team members or serving as a technical lead in a production support environment.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
