Business Systems Analyst, Expert - Energy Transportation and Distribution

Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for an expert level Business Systems Analyst to join our Business Application Services and Delivery team that supports the CHS Energy Transportation and Distribution business. This position will be focused on supporting and enhancing existing critical business applications, Customer Facing Portals, and associated middleware solutions that support the CHS Transportation and Logistics Business. You must have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and able to work in a team environment.
To be considered for this position, qualified candidates must currently reside in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN surrounding area in order to work a hybrid schedule at the corporate office, located in Inver Grove Heights.
Responsibilities
- Become a subject matter expert of the business application portfolio supporting the CHS Transportation and Logistics business unit.
- Guide business partners through business case development for new capabilities, including cost benefit analysis and risk assessment.
- Analyze business user needs, document business processes, and translate business objectives into system requirement specifications/user stories for resolving issues and new enhancements.
- Build test plans, test cases, perform functional testing and assure proper user acceptance testing of completed projects.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Present technical concepts and specific solutions to audiences of varying technical capabilities in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide troubleshooting and operational support activities for assigned business applications and assure secondary resources are well trained to support the application.
- Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with the business, project managers, IT team members and software vendors to coordinate support tasks and resolve issues as they arise.
- Review and update systems models, specifications, use cases, diagrams, and charts generated by other Business Analysts.
- Develop and maintain Business Unit specific application roadmaps.
- Manage a small team, overseeing day-to-day responsibilities, ensuring deliverables are achieved, and driving team performance through clear direction and accountability.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field (or equivalent years of work experience, education and/or training)
- 7+ years of IT Business Analyst experience within the Transportation industry to include:
- Gathering and preparing business requirements, detailed system design requirements and test cases
- Formulating and defining system scope and objectives for assigned projects
- End-to-end IT coordination and support experience
Additional Qualifications
- Business Certification
- Domain knowledge in Agriculture or Energy including refinery and distribution
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Product based understanding of software development lifecycle with specific knowledge in Agile development
- Experience with Truck Dispatch, 3rd Party Logistics, Equipment Maintenance and/or Asset Management systems
- Previous experience in leading others including setting priorities, driving accountability, and supporting professional growth
- Works independently and perform work duties with minimal guidance
- Strong collaboration skills

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
