We’re hiring a Grain Originator Intern in Kershaw, MT! This hands-on internship offers the chance to work closely with our full-time Grain Originator, engaging with local producers to secure grain and develop effective marketing strategies. If you're detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and eager to learn, this is the perfect opportunity to gain real-world experience in the agricultural industry and kick-start your career! The internship can start as early as Spring 2027, depending on business needs and your availability, and extend through the summer.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience in agronomy operations, including scouting, crop protection and nutrient products, seed, custom application, mixing procedures and product delivery.
- Perform agronomy/seed operations and maintain inventory quality, including routine housecleaning and recordkeeping.
- Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance on agronomy equipment (legs, conveyors, towers, vehicles, sprayers, floaters, trucks).
- Learn and support grain origination, including procuring grain from local producers and developing new accounts.
- Assist with producer communication on market trends, grain quotes, programs and marketing plans.
- Prepare purchasing contracts and support rail billing and grain sales settlements as needed.
- Partner with elevator and office staff to ensure accurate flow of grain-related information, while providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with state, local and CHS environmental and safety policies, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program.
Additional Qualifications
- Previous knowlege or experience in Agriculture prefered but not required.
- Previous internship experience.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
If eligibility requirements are met, you may participate in 401(k).
