Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Pipelines & Terminals division in Chase, KS. We are looking for a Pipeliner to perform general labor in connection with the pipeline maintenance, repair, and minor construction. You must be a self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks, are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor such as working on bolted flange assemblies, pipe fitting, painting, digging trenches, loading trucks or cleaning material or equipment.
- Assist the Welder as needed. Assist the Equipment Operator as needed.
- Clear right-of-ways as directed using handheld power equipment.
- Become Technician Level Hazwoper trained.
- Learn various Maintenance and or Operations duties to relieve others who are on vacation, sick leave, or due to an emergency.
- Become a qualified controller to provide relief to other controllers on vacation, sick leave, or due to an emergency.
- Perform other duties as required or directed based on individual experience and become "Operator Qualified" on covered tasks.
Some overtime will be required.
Some out-of-town work can be expected.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- CDL driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
Additional Qualifications
- Up to 1 year of pipeline operations experience
- Knowledge of Operations and/or Pipeline Production Operations
- Proficient computer skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
- Ability to perform physical work in all weather conditions, including climbing ladders.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
