Summary

Responsibilities

  • For complex transactions, act as a liaison between CHS and customers to provide market analysis, supply/demand reports, economic analysis.
  • Analyze and determine complex trading strategies to optimize opportunities, volume and profit while controlling risk.
  • Apply understanding of various commodities, accuracy of trading terms, risk measurement, profit and loss analysis, and futures hedging.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to grow CHS business in a profitable manner, manage risk, reduce cost and determine the best sourcing options.
  • Coordinate with the buyers, finance, logistics and other regions to insure that the trade execution runs smoothly.
  • Identify opportunities in which CHS financial strength can be used in strategic alliances, investments, acquisition opportunities with producers, processors, distributors to ensure a smooth execution and supply of commodities to assigned region.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Oversee customer service, including provide first point of contact with consumer/user, resolve issues with accounting, transportation, shippers and buyers, and maintain existing customer base.
  • Provide various market and economic analysis, supply/demand reports, price strategy development and guidance, and risk management strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry leaders, strategic community partners, and be involved with industry associations.
  • Manage sales budget and expenses, forecast product supply and demand by account.
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and proposals.
  • Supply Chain Management: manage relationships with internal production and customers; assist with issues such as logistics, quality assurance.
  • Perform other responsibities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities
  • 4+ years of experience in Trading

Additional Qualifications

  • In depth understanding of commodity markets and trading
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills
  • Ability to adpat to fast changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field

Physical Requirements

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.

If eligibility requirements are met, you may participate in 401(k).
