Summary
Do you obtain a CDL?CHS, Inc is hiring in Shipman, IL for the 2024 spring season! Daily you will build strong on-farm relationships with some of the best-known brands in agriculture to deliver and apply custom fertilizer and crop protection solutions across IL. You will receive onsite training, drive our products locally, maintain spray equipment and blend chemicals. Responsibilities
- Under general supervison, apply fertilzer and crop protection products. May include use of a high clearance sprayer or floater.
- Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Educate customers on products being applied to fields, techniques utilized, and how you can continue to support them with products and services.
- Assist the sales staff in ensuring orders are correct and patron needs are met.
- Perform warehouse work to including driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
- Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light duty machinery/equipment. May include bulk and or packaged material.
- Pick up and deliver product to customers as needed.
- Perform general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently, which may include general maintenance, grounds maintenance, equipment inspection and maintenance, and record keeping.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 1+ years of experience in Agriculture Production, Operations, and/or Agriculture Application
- License Requirement: Class A or B CDL
- Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
- Hazmat,Tanker, Air Brake endorsements preferred
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays and occasional weekends to meet business demands
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Agriculture background preferred
- Bulk liquid, pressure trailer, or forklift experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 55+ pounds
- Ability to sit, stand & bend for extended periods of time
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
