Summary

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Energy Division. We are looking for a Sr. Pipeline Scheduler to schedule crude oil movements on the Front Range Pipeline and/or refined Petroleum products on the Cenex Pipeline. 

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills, and attention to detail in accounting for shipper movements, inventories, and deliveries with ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve issues. 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and approve shipper nominations and then develop a pipeline schedule that maximizes the pipeline’s efficiency 
  • Managing shipper deliveries, inventories and schedules with connecting pipelines and refineries accordingly.
  • Calculating and tracking product volumes in line, in tanks, per shipper, per product, etc.
  • Coordinate month-end closing activities, verify results and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide controllers with accurate and clear instructions to safely meet the pipeline schedule.
  • Build and promote relationships with shippers, schedulers, suppliers, connecting pipelines and refineries.
  • Become familiar with pipeline tariff requirements which govern how space is filled and allocated and how shipper nominations are filled and met each month.
  • Maintain confidentiality of shipper information.
  • Observe pipeline operations and make recommendations for improvements for safety, economic, or operational benefit. Perform duties as required for the safe operation of the pipelines.
  • Support a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Act as the main point of contact representing pipeline companies and communicating directly with shippers, suppliers, pipeline control center, and connecting pipelines
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of petroleum industry, pipeline experience, logistics, accounting, or related experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiency with geometric and algebraic calculations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior Logistics or Scheduling experience
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Understanding and ability to apply Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rules and regulations governing pipeline operations preferred.
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
