Summary
CHS is seeking an experienced marketer with a proven track record of building relationships with stakeholders through compelling, engaging marketing strategies, plans and content. This role will plan and execute marketing campaigns, programs and promotions for CHS animal nutrition products and brands, and other agricultural products and services.
We’re looking for someone who is energized by the opportunity to create and execute marketing plans and campaigns that produce results and develop content to promote animal nutrition. This role engages with multiple media forms ranging from digital marketing to traditional print advertising. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly build connections with a wide range of audiences, including sales, business and product leaders and teams to become a trusted consultant and advocate for product teams. Candidates should possess a continuous improvement mindset and be excited about the opportunity to contribute to an evolving marketing team.
This position is for a self-driven, energetic and experienced marketer with the ability to collaborate and execute on marketing work with multiple stakeholders throughout a matrixed organization. We are looking for candidates with proven strategic and creative capacity, highly developed understanding of marketing tactics and the desire to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week on-site at the CHS office in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; remote work may be considered for the right candidate. This position could include up to 10% travel.
Responsibilities
• Develop, plan and implement marketing strategies to increase awareness, create preference and support sales of animal nutrition products and brands.
• Collaborate with colleagues within marketing team to concept, develop and deliver sales tools and marketing materials to reach wholesale and retail animal nutrition customers. This role will span B2B2C marketing tactics.
• Develop and guide Payback®, Equis® and other brand portfolios to align with the CHS brand.
• Plan, create and execute promotional marketing plans, campaigns and programs to increase awareness and preference for animal nutrition products.
• Coordinate trade advertising plans and tactics.
• Brainstorm, develop, implement and execute programs and promotions to drive sales growth through CHS ag retail locations and broader dealer network.
• Manage and influence multiple annual advertising and marketing budgets.
• Work as one CHS with regional business, product and sales partners and with enterprise marketing team to enhance materials and outcomes.
• Create and implement digital marketing plan to promote animal nutrition and other agricultural products on existing digital platforms including website, Facebook, Instagram and other digital platforms such as e-newsletters, texting platforms, etc.
• Create relevant wholesale and retail marketing content for channels such as social media, print newsletters and radio advertisements.
• Understand and represent CHS enterprise strategies and priorities in all marketing efforts.
• Create and share regular reports on campaign and content performance.
• Engage and direct agency partners to produce results-oriented campaigns and brand-first design materials.
• Collaborate with CHS and freelance photographers/videographers to plan and deliver imagery, produced videos and other audiovisual products to support business objectives and to augment company stock image and footage libraries.
• As part of a collaborative marketing team, this role will support additional marketing-related responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High school diploma or GED
- Five-plus years of experience in marketing or a related field
- Subject matter expertise and/or expertise in animal nutrition, animal health and/or agriculture
- Experience creating and managing effective marketing strategies and campaigns spanning multiple channels and mediums (web, mobile, social, print)
- Strong customer service orientation with effective time management and solutioning abilities
- Ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
- Excellent communication, collaboration and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
Additional Qualifications
- Four-year degree in marketing, marketing communications or related field
- Experience managing marketing campaigns with a proven track record of managing deadlines, budgets and vendors
- Experience operating independently and executing flawlessly on the strategic and tactical levels
- Experience working with various departments, including customer relations and sales teams
- Experience working as a function in a matrixed environment

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
