Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst for the Crop Nutrients Product Line plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic financial planning, operational analysis, and business decision-making. This position is responsible for delivering high-impact insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and alignment with enterprise objectives. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supporting operations, sales, trading, planning, and functional managers through budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and general business decision support.
Responsibilities
- Partner with and Support Commercial Leaders
- Product line volume and margin reporting and analysis
- Management Mark-to-Market and Trade Equity evaluation and process ownership
- Asset evaluation and financial modeling for capital investments
- Coordination with supply chain leaders to align financial insights with operational execution
- Provide Financial Analysis & Decision Support
- Variance analysis of actual results versus budget and forecast
- Market trend and industry benchmarking to inform strategic decisions
- Development of financial models for scenario planning and investment evaluation
- Discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis for capital projects and asset ROI assessments
- Support for business case development and strategic change initiatives
- Execute complex financial analysis to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve margins and reduce risk
- Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages including Quarterly Financial Reviews (QFR), monthly P&L summaries, and financial performance decks for leadership review
- Lead ad-hoc projects without significant guidance from leadership
- Strengthen Financial Forecasting & Analytical Capabilities
- Leading budgeting and forecasting cycles for the Crop Nutrients product line and the CF Nitrogen (CFN) joint venture investment
- Creating and enhancing dashboards for margin, volume, and expense tracking
- Improving data governance and validation processes for financial reporting
- Supporting long-range planning (LRP) and headcount forecasting
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or Financial Planning and Analysis
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to solve complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- In depth understanding of budgeting, long-range planning and forecasting processes as well as various financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Statement of Cash Flow)
- Confirmed proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting
- Demonstrated learning agility with the ability to understand complex business problems
- Experienced user of ERP systems and forecasting tools as well as strong experience working with various types of data and information
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks at once
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor others and thrive in a team environment
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset with the desire to lead change initiatives

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
