Summary

CHS Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Global Grain & Processing business unit located in Guadalajara, Mexico. We are looking for a Commodity Analyst to support CHS commodity marketing activity in Latin America. You must be able to work with a diverse group of people and build effective long-lasting relationships, as well as take decisions, perform complex tasks and calculations, work independently, and be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by being a point of contact with CHS customers, traders, marketers, and other stakeholders internal or external.
  • Work closely with Global Grain and Processing personnel (i.e., marketers, grain traders, grain accounting, middle office, ocean freight/operations, hedge desk, global trade programs, trade execution and credit/risk) to:
    • Provide accurate business confirmations, contracts and export amendments forms and creation,
    • Obtain timely signed electronic contracts, export amendments, promissory notes, or any other relevant documentation.
    • Conduct the onboarding process and approval of customers as well as any update of data for existent counterparties.
    • Monitor, ensure and inform proper tracking of logistics and execution (by providing daily updates of ETA/ETB/ETC)
    • Track and review of trading terms (i.e., payment terms, specifications, conditions, etc.) and counterparty/credit limits.
    • Maximize profitability on vessels executions (i.e., identifying opportunities to avoid separations or to reduce flat price exposure).
    • Assists in the preparation of detailed offers, inform price discovery and any other customer relevant data.
  • Engage and communicate with customers on pricing, rolling, pricing recaps, overfill/underfill calculations/amendments, and exchange activities for contracts. Keep track and accuracy of contract pricings and position on daily basis.
  • Ensure that CHS policies, compliance, risk, and/or credit checks are properly executed, reviewed, and approved prior to any trade engagement and/or trade confirmation.
  • Inform timely to CHS customers, internal or external stakeholders changes on contract terms, logistics or execution conditions.
  • Communicate directly with assigned customers bringing them valued information and services that will generate repeat business for CHS (i.e., discount programs, market intelligence/research, logistics visibility, etc.).
  • Keep and develop new and current business accounts in the region as directed.
  • Determine open volume of assigned customers on weekly basis to identify business that better suits CHS supply chain.
  • Assist the Latin America marketing team to expand market access as directed.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of commodities/finance/logistics, i.e., finance, sales, trading or trade execution
  • Bi-lingual; fluent in English and Spanish (both verbal and written)

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, supply chain or related field
  • 1+ years of experience in the commodities/finance/logistics, i.e., finance, sales, trading or trade execution
  • Clear leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of NAEGA, GAFTA, ANEC terms.
