Summary
CHS in Myrtle Grove is looking for a Union Electrician to join our team!
Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot using electrical schematics and multimeter/megger to diagnose electrical issues
• Must be able to read PLC code, troubleshoot using PLC software and program PLC controlled equipment
• Reads and understands wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits; IO’s, OL’s, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components
• Experience with 480vAC, 120vAC, 24vDC, and 4-20mA systems
• Troubleshoot and install 480v and 3 phase power distribution systems
• Familiar with troubleshooting/set up of VFD drives; SEW drives, Siemen, Lenze, Allen Bradley, AB
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components; IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components
• Maintain, install, troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair of all plant equipment and utilities
• Installation and maintenance of electrical equipment such as conduit, junction boxes, control panels, wiring, etc., in conformance to the National Electrical Code
• Complete assigned work orders, and project work promptly while maintaining a neat and orderly workplace.
• Understand and troubleshoot sensor-based systems such as level controls, temperature controllers, etc.
• Repair sophisticated electronic equipment such as programmable controllers and vfd
• Able to build and read electrical/electronic schematics and drawings, fabricate control panels and start-up new and rebuilt equipment
• Perform all with safety in mind and within all compliance requirements to avoid personal injury!
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management or required by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Must have a journeyman license or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial Electricity and Control System with the ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot sophisticated equipment
- English Language Skills – Able to speak, read, write
- Able to work a flexible work schedule (all shifts, extended hours, including weekends and holidays when required)
- Understand National Electric Code as it relates to industrial installations
- Must be self-motivated and productive with minimal direction while exhibiting the ability to work in a team environment
- Able to use multi-meter, megger, and other test equipment
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
Physical Requirements
- Considerable periods on feet including walking, standing, climbing steps, climbing ladders, and operating a Bobcat on uneven surfaces.
- Will be required to lift, use tools, shovel, and sweep.
- Must be able to push, pull, and physically lift 50 lbs.
- May be required to work while squatting, kneeling, or crawling.
- Must be able to work in noisy, dusty, and otherwise undesirable conditions.
- Climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft.
- Must be able to wear Arc Flash PPE during high temperatures
