Maintenance Supervisor

Summary
Join our largest grain export facility in Belle Chasse, LA, as a Maintenance Supervisor. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance activities, including scheduling and coordinating maintenance; managing work requests and job requirements; leading and motivating a team of union electricians, millwrights, and contractors; and overseeing scheduling, training, development, and safety of the maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader, skilled in maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, and ready to contribute to our recently expanded facility.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead an effective maintenance team to ensure consistent equipment availability and minimize production disruptions.
- Provide training and coaching to maintenance employees.
- Facilitate proper training for maintenance personnel.
Maintenance Supervision:
- Oversee plant maintenance activities, including predictive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and emergency interventions.
- Ensure all maintenance employees complete work orders in the CMMS.
- Maximize performance by utilizing a proactive preventative maintenance program.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations and the maintenance department to schedule work orders, determining necessary equipment time, parts, and tools.
- Collaborate with the inventory manager to keep Binstock current and maintain critical parts inventory.
Reporting and Program Development:
- Report daily work activities to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist in building and developing a world-class electrical and mechanical program.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all work practices and equipment meet CHS safety standards.
- Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture by following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards, and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
Additional Qualifications
- Maintenance and repair in a production setting.
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficient in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)/Automation, specifically Siemens and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
- Strong electrical background with basic mechanical knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues promptly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work extended hours to meet business demands.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty and all weather conditions
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
