Summary
We in CHSINC Italy have an exciting opportunity for a Grain Commercial Merchant to join our growing team in Padova. We are looking for a candidate who will work closely with our grain commercial team to support our business operations and help us consolidate the growth we've achieved in recent years. This position will involve managing relationships with our clients and suppliers, as well as seeking out new opportunities to increase our volumes and expand our business. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, and be able to work collaboratively with team members. They should also have a passion for the grain industry and a desire to learn and grow in their role. As part of our growing team, we are looking for a candidate who is excited about contributing to our continued success. The ideal candidate will be eager to take on new challenges and opportunities for growth, and will be committed to helping us achieve our goals. This position will be based in our Padova office (on a hybrid basis) and will involve travel to meet with clients and suppliers.
Gerneral Description
Main tasks but not limited to:
- Maintain existing customer base and identify, develop and build new opportunities.
- Interact daily with customers and provide reliable and good info to CHS EMEA trading team.
- Identify new opportunities to generate positive P&L for CHS Italy
- Follow up of logistic and collaborate closely with execution department
- Develop commercial activities of CHS Italy.
- Form and execute strategies for positioning, buying and selling grain.
- Perform internal market analysis. Adapt the result to new strategies. Try to anticipate what’s going to happen.
- Develop new alliances with customers and suppliers and stevedores.
- Manage and understand risk limits and evaluate if customers are trusted.
- Provide info and explanations to finance team (M2M)
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and potential customers.
- Be an industry expert and know current and possible future policies, practices, trends and information affecting CHS Italy grain marketing operation.
- Try to generate a profit within all our supply chain.
- Study ways to reduce our finance cost.
- Knowledge of Italy contracts.
Qualifications
- Business Diploma, or University degrees, business, economics
- 2-3 years of experience min. in similar position in Grain commodity
- Good MS office knowledge, Excel pro
- JD Edwards Oracle, SAP
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities
- Fluent in English/Italian
- Excellent communication skills.
