Summary

CHS is looking for an Electrician at the Mankato facility. You will be responsible for all electrical equipment in reliable working condition as directed by the Electrician Manager or as needed by other department managers. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, have desire to learn, and work well with others. Schedule is Monday-Friday. 

Responsibilities

  • Removal and replacement of electrical equipment and systems including documentation of work performed and drawings of electrical system modifications.
  • Removal and replacement of electrical equipment and systems including documentation of work performed and drawings of electrical system modifications.
  • Work with all test instruments normally used in the electrical trade.
  • Install electrical equipment, conduit systems, and wiring according to the National Electrical Code.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and wiring systems from 0-15KV.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair voice and data communication networks and fire alarm systems.
  • Clean up all work areas and electrical equipment and switchgear rooms.
  • Work together with other crafts and fellow electricians.
  • Understand and work according to all safety procedures implemented in the plant.
  • Must be compliant with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food/Feed Safety, and Quality Programs.
  • Perform other duties that may be reasonably assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Must maintain a MN Class ‘A’ Journeyman license
  • Distinguish between colors ranging from red to violet.
  • Must be able to work alone when necessary and to direct others when projects require crews of several electricians.

Physical Requirements

  • Considerable periods on feet including walking, standing, climbing steps, and climbing ladders. 
  • Will be required to lift, use tools, shovel, and sweep. 
  • Must be able to push, pull, and physically lift 50 lbs. from the floor, to the waist, and above the head. 
  • May be required to work while squatting, kneeling, or crawling. 
  • Must be able to work in noisy, dusty, and otherwise undesirable conditions.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft.
