Regional Sales Director

Summary

CHShas an exciting opportunity on our CHS Retail Go-To-Market team. We are looking to add to our structure the role of Regional Sales Director.  This role is responsible for driving organic growth, increase sales, strong focus on proving a rich customer experience in our Eastern Territory.  This role will lead a large sales team of sales and account managers to provide leadership focusing on retail sales across agronomy, energy and grain product lines.  Must be able to drive profitable growth and ensure a positive customer experience that delivers value to our customers and strong returns for our owners. You must have strong business acumen and relationship management skills and exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead part of the retail sales organization with responsibilities that include setting sales and growth targets for sales and account managers to ensure business goals are met and high value to the customer is provided.
  • Establish and achieve annual growth targets for designated region and in partnership with leadership team members.
  • Ensure sufficient market coverage to capture market share aligned with market mapping that quantifies the size of the market.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to address the broad range of customers throughout the retail market area.
  • Create and execute a sales and growth strategy, establishment of sales territories, sales territory management and the hiring and development of sales and account managers.
  • Support the development of extensive market/customer analysis and market mapping to ensure the differing needs of customer segments are understood and sales coverage/product line needs are understood.
  • Help to develop and implement cross sell/upsell market strategies across all product lines and in partnership with peers and team members.
  • Provide product recommendations and expertise, ensuring connection with university and/or industry research resources.
  • Utilize technology, data and appropriate resources to provide the best product solutions to customers.
  • You must be comfortable with change, ambiguity, and adept at managing competing demands.
  • Establish effective relationships with key customers and business partners to maintain and grow the business.
  • Drive Lean practices to continually improve how we sell and service our customers.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and/or Sales Business Operations
  • Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities

Additional Qualifications

  • Extensive sales experience to include:
  • Direct responsibility for a sales territory with experience of consistently achieving sales growth and customer retention objectives
  • A track record of progressive growth and increasing responsibility for delivering individual and team sales results
  • Experience in new business development and developing and leading marketing, customer segmentation, and go-to-market initiatives
  • Leading a team in marketing and selling services, with strong experience in developing sales team members to achieve results that exceed historical performance trends
  • A track record of attracting, retaining, and developing top sales and marketing talent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
