L&D Sales and Leadership Trainer

Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity within our Learning and Development team for a Learning and Development Expert. This role is ideal for a senior level learning and development professional. The Learning and Development expert will consult with senior leaders to align learning and development strategies to business strategies. This position will create, develop, and deliver key learning solutions that build individual, team, and leadership, and role specific skills and capabilities.  This position will need to adapt learning and development solutions to meet the needs of a diverse workforce and this position will deliver learning and development solutions to both our internal employees and our member cooperative customers.

Responsibilities

30%

  • Discover and deliver learning and development solutions to our customers that drive individual, team, and leadership development through our cooperative leadership academy. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and market development managers to understand the needs of the customers. 
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of learning solutions that drive performance and results, supporting strategic business goals, financial metrics, and learning objectives of our customers.

30%

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales Training and key leaders to develop a training and implementation plan for the roll out of sales training to the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales Training to assess the needs of the organization with customer service training.  
  • Deliver sales and customer service training to our internal CHS employees and our customers.  

25%

  • Assist with managing relevant external consultant and vendor support resources, including addressing existing contracts, and establishing new contracts when necessary with attention to timelines, deliverables, and budget.  
  • Apply adult learning theory and development models, benchmark best practices and trends, and maintain knowledge of cutting-edge approaches in order to design and deliver highly effective learning solutions that drive financial results, behavior change, and long-term impact.
  • Develop and implement best practice learning curriculum, tools and support mechanisms while utilizing technology enabled learning solutions.  

15%

  • Utilize training metrics to ensure and report to key stakeholders the effectiveness of training programs utilizing various assessment methods i.e. sales results, testing, evaluations, observations, etc.
  • Determine how to coordinate sales and customer training metrics with other relevant technology tools (i.e. CRM). 
  • Maintain L&D budget and spend for respective programs. 


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational behavior, human resources or related field
  • 10 years of experience leading large scale learning and development projects and programs, performance consulting, and/or organization development 
  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning and development methodologies and tools
  • Experience applying a variety of development approaches that span formal training, relationship-based, and experience-based development (70-20-10 model of learning and development)
  • Experience managing consultant resources/vendor relations
  • Demonstrated strengths in facilitation and presentation 
  • Travel requirements - 25% to 50%

Additional Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field 
  • Experience with sales and customer service training 
  • Experience in a Fortune 100 company in the learning and development function
  • Extensive knowledge in training development models, adult learning theory or instructional design
  • Background in agriculture or energy-related field
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning 
  • Strong Interpersonal relationship skills (influencing, listening, forming partnerships)
  • Budgeting, training measurement and metrics
  • Change leadership and ability to lead change in an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
