Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Finance Shared Servicesgroup. We are looking for a Cash Application Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of the Cash Application team. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; be detail oriented, adaptive, be able to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high-volume enviornment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring and leadership to attract, develop and retain talent.
  • Coach and build team, support professional development, review and assess performance and enable employees to maximize their performance.
  • Identify resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as second level escalation point for any Cash Application issues reported by the lead/specialist.
  • Monitor and pull bank account activity, along with daily activity reports.
  • Ensure that receipts, discounts and adjustments are accurately posted to customer accounts in a timely manner to meet department goals on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Identify missing remittances and takes the necessary steps to obtain the appropriate documentation required to post cash.
  • Prepare daily/monthly reports for unapplied cash.
  • Reconciliate Accounts Receivable GL account, on monthly basis.
  • Create dispute, assign reason code and dispute processor.
  • Monitor and create metrics and KPIs to ensure cash application is completed according to targets.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation and data to improve business performance.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of Cash Application processes to create a more streamlined approach.
  • Collaborate with Finance Shared Services, Treasury, Credit COE and IT to ensure business needs are being met and cash is being applied as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Instill a continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Champion and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business field (Additional years of relevant work experience may offset degree requirement).
  • 5-7+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, accounts payable or equivalent business experience.
  • 1+ years of direct experience leading and managing a team of direct reports. 

Additional Qualifications

  • SAP, JDE or other ERP systems experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel)
  • Industry experience in agriculture, energy, or related industry
