CHS Inc. is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Galveston!


  • Keep production operating free of electrical problems.
  • Perform removal and replacement of electrical equipment, systems and wiring including documentation of work performed and drawings of electrical system modifications.
  • Ensure all Lock-out/Tag-out instructions are properly executed by ensuring that no short cuts are taken and that the equipment being locked-out is tested to confirm that no energy is available after Tag-out and prior to work commencing.
  • Maintain required records and document preventive maintenance work.
  • Perform the housekeeping duties in the Electrical Shop and work areas.
  • Maintain and upkeep all shop tools.
  • Report and document all injuries and hazards to Supervisor.
  • Assist Millwrights with work assignments.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 2+ years of experience in Production, Operations and/or Maintenance and/or Electrical Maintenance

Additional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of Terminal PLC and control systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting control and power circuits
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of 2nd Class Electrician training preferred
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, over water, and around moving automated machinery
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
